CLINICS

Maternity Medical Services

Antenatal Clinic
The midwife holds a clinic at the surgery on alternate Mondays by appointment. The midwife shares the responsibility for antenatal care with the doctors.

Postnatal Care
Postnatal care is provided by the doctors and the midwives. There is a ‘drop-in’ clinic for postnatal care and advice, run by the midwives, at Wokingham Community Hospital on Mondays and Fridays from 9.00 - 11.00am.

Asthma Clinic

This is run by the practice nurses in conjunction with the doctors, by appointment only.

Coronary Heart Disease Clinic

This is run by the practice nurses in conjunction with the doctors, by appointment only.

Diabetic Clinic

This is run by the practice nurses in conjunction with Dr Latham by appointment only.

Family Planning

Contraceptive care is provided by all the doctors or the practice nurses during surgery hours. The doctors will fit, monitor, check and remove IUCDs as appropriate.

Well Woman Clinics

The doctor and nurse carry out cervical smears and will discuss women's health issues.

Child Health

Child health, including childhood immunisations and development checks, is provided by the practice nurses and the health visitors.

Minor Surgery

Dr Clapton carries out minor surgical procedures by appointment.

Patients Over 75 Years

Patients aged 75 years or over may request an annual health check by the practice nurse, district nurse or health visitor. This can be arranged at the surgery or, if that is not possible, a home visit will be arranged.

Travel Immunisations/Vaccinations

Please contact the surgery six weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. A list of these charges is held at reception.

Flu Vaccination

An influenza vaccination is particularly recommended for patients over 65, those with heart, lung, kidney or liver disease, diabetes and residents of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in September for details of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment.

Non-NHS Examinations

The doctors are happy to carry out medicals, eg insurance and driving licence, by appointment. Please telephone the surgery for an appointment. Please ask at reception for the charges for these services.
